Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises ten Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
Question Time at Reepham College
Staff and students were delighted to welcome representatives from the Conservative, Green, Labour and Liberal Democrat parties at our Question Time event on 20th March. Students were invited to put forward, previously unseen, questions to the panel, which was chaired by our Deputy Head Boy.
Topics put to the panel for discussion by our audience of Year 12 and 13 students included; mental health and young people, knife crime and county lines, the environment, climate change and the recent student action, proportional representation, lowering the voting age, free speech, when will the period of austerity end, why do the Conservatives continue to sell arms to Saudi, should drugs be legalised and NHS funding. All resulting in two hours of healthy and enthusiastic debate and discussion!
Our panel of guests summarised encouraging our young people to register for to vote and explained how this can be done and what information they will need.
Thank you to all parties represented in what is clearly a busy time in the political environment, to our Senior Head Boy & Girl teams for their exemplary organisation, to our Deputy Head Boy for chairing the event so professionally and to our Year 12 and 13 students who posed some challenging questions for debate.
